After extensive planning, Media Cooperative Kansan Valta has decided to completely renew Viikko Pohjois-Karjala, transforming it into a publication covering the entire Eastern Finland region for the Social Democratic Party (SDP), under the new name Itäsuomalainen. This change significantly expands its reach. The paper will now cover a whole new range of topics related to the everyday lives of Eastern Finnish people. Additionally, new writers and columns will feature in the future editions.
The renewal was carried out by building entirely new NeoDirect online services, with a focus on improving website accessibility and ensuring that readers can be better served now and in the future.
The goal is to bring more diverse content to the media landscape of Eastern Finland and to present different perspectives on regional issues.
