At the core of the concept are Anygraaf's latest development versions of our content management, online publishing, paper magazine design, and media sales and order management solutions.
Since 2020, Ylä-Satakunta has used a modern system tailored for local newspaper use that it is now extending to partner newspapers. Ylä-Satakunta acts as the main user of the centralized system and is responsible for the development work by and communication with the developer Anygraaf.
The operating model also enables and supports increased cooperation in the future. For example, it is possible to build a subscriber management methodology common to some or all magazines belonging to the partner network-now and in the future.
- It is possible for independent local newspapers to benefit from the cooperation and benefits that have been reserved only for newspaper chains for a long time. Our company focuses and specializes in this role, and we offer our expertise to others. I strongly believe that by increasing cooperation, the operating conditions and competitiveness of small newspapers can be improved, says Ylä-Satakunnan Sanomalehti Oy's CEO and Ylä-Satakunta's editor-in-chief Jukka Huikko.
Janne Ahramo, who is responsible for Anygraaf's solution sales, sees that, for example, new browser-based software versions open up significant opportunities for improving operations in independent local newspapers.
- Even smaller local newspapers are able to do multi-channel media sales using the AProfit portal. Sales monitoring becomes more efficient with versatile management and reporting options. The work of customer service is made easier with the help of the CProfit portal. Journalists who produce content get access to browser-based eNeo, which eliminates any location-specific aspects of their work. The customers' self-service functions also have a lot of weight, when the resources for the production of announcements can be allocated elsewhere, Ahramo lists.
Local newspaper Joutsan Seutu has been discussing their need for a new website for a long time. Clear and concise renewal procedures have been a need in the delivery system that has been "torn to pieces" over the years. The idea of system cooperation offered by Ylä-Satakunnan Sanomalehti Oy came to the table at the end of last year in terms of Joutsa Seutu, so to speak, at the time of the count.
- After getting to know the package and the concepts, it was downright easy to grasp the idea that Ylä-Satakunta was proposing and it was easy to get excited about it, because the entire palette was built and modified in Ylä-Satakunta specifically for the production of a local magazine like ours, covering a wide range of the necessary and essential blocks. Anygraaf's A and CProfits are already in use in the Joutsan Seutu. In this context, the intention is to switch to browser-based versions, so we will take a clear leap forward with them as well, says Marko Nikkanen, editor-in-chief of Joutsan Seutu and CEO of Joutsan Seutu Oy.
- In our opinion, a very significant factor in this solution is that in the cooperation model created and offered by Ylä-Satakunta, we do not have to start building a new delivery system in the old way from the beginning with the software supplier, but we can simply join the system that is already in operation after preparing for the agreed implementation. This saves us a lot of time and effort, certainly money, and the project is not cumbersome and hair-raising. The necessary technical preparation is largely handled by the third partner in this process, i.e. Anygraaf, he continues.
The system will be implemented in its entirety at the between September-October 2023.
